- I have a A5000 and a MacSE30 and often need to swap files between the
- two ( mainly because I don't have a printer for the Arc - yet ). The
- easiest thing to do is format a disc to either DOS 1.4 or 720 standard. Put
- your Arc files on this and then takes this disc over to the Mac. So long
- as you have a "SuperDrive" Mac ( i.e. one that reads High-D floppies ) you can
- use the "Apple File Exchange" program ( free with all HD-floppy Macs ).
-
- A few tips...
-
- When moving text files ( ie. of the sort produced by !Edit etc ) you'll
- need to toggle the control-linefeed widget BEFORE you save the final version to
- disc to transfer to the Mac - once at the Mac choose the "text translation"
- option from the "IBM->Mac" menu, NOT the default.
-
- When moving "binaries" etc ( for example I often need to print out
- Sprites on the Mac - so I turn 'em into GIFs ), just save 'em to the DOS
- disc and use the "Default" translation option on the Mac. Sadly, you'll probably
- loose the *type* of the file, so if you're working with GIFs etc, get the
- Macs software to inspect files on CONTENTS and NOT on TYPE.
-
- Hope this help some. If anyone has any hassles or tips using Arc's and
- Macs together I'd be very glad to talk to them.
-
- Just trying to be, Tom.
