- I heard that he left CC without finishing the colour card on which he was
- working. However, they *didn't* pick up on his work at all, preferring to let
- Wild Vision develop a completely new design. This they did, apparently
- within 12 weeks. Given a further 12 weeks perhaps they'll be able to produce
- one that works properly on *all* machines.

- Oh really?
- Some of the emulated modes are apparently so nice on the State Machine
- cards that they've decided we should have two of them - simultaneously!!
- I thought we had a dual player version of Elite when they tried to
- demonstrate the game using their card at the recent BAU show.
-
- Hmm, interesting idea though.......
-
- While I appreciate that Elite, along with many other games, probably uses
- 'illegal' screen addressing, a subsequent conversation with Chris Honey
- revealed that *not* all modes have, as yet, been emulated and have in fact
- been given low priority for conversion.
- However, the above example serves to illustrate a fundamental flaw in the
- emulation method which is probably unsolvable. Personally, I prefer CC's
- approach which *should* give better software compatibility in the long run,
- assuming all modes up to 40 are allowed to 'pass through' without
- interference.
