  10. IMSL is currently seeking beta testers on Sun workstations for
  11. IMSL/IDL Version 2.0 and IMSL/Maple.  Beta testing will be
  12. conducted from January 5 - March 7, 1993. Beta testers will
  13. receive a 50% discount on the price of a single license to the
  14. software.

  16. IMSL/IDL is a new (was released March 16, 1992) interactive
  17. software for visual data analysis designed for researchers,
  18. engineers, scientists, and data analysts.

  20. This array-oriented command language is complete with powerful 2D
  21. and 3D graphics, and a robust set of image processing and signal
  22. processing functions.  IMSL/IDL has a seamless integration of the
  23. 200 mathematical functions of IMSL's C/Math /Library; Version 2.0
  24. will include an integration of IMSL's C/Stat/Library, plus other
  25. significant enhancements.

  27. A basic graphical widget toolkit with sliders, buttons, labels,
  28. pull-down menus, and drawable widgets allows you to build
  29. sophisticated graphical user interfaces for your applications and
  30. programs.

  32. IMSL/Maple is an add-on module to IMSL/IDL.  It is based upon
  33. Maple V, a computer algebra system that supports both symbolic
  34. and numeric computations. IMSL/Maple users will be able to launch
  35. a Maple session and communicate directly with IMSL/IDL.
