  19. Technical contributions are hereby solicited for the 7th CSEE, the only
  20. conference that emphasizes software engineering education. The CSEE series
  21. has been continuously growing and maturing, gaining international interest
  22. and participation, bringing together educators from universities, industry,
  23. and government.  The conference provides a unique forum promoting interactions
  24. among these communities for discussing mutual problems and issues related
  25. to the content, structure, and delivery of software engineering education.
  26. The conference format includes refereed papers, panel discussions, reports,
  27. tutorials, and workshop sessions.

  30. CONFERENCE THEME
  31. The technical motivation behind the CSEE series has been putting the 
  32. "engineering" into software engineering--applying the principles and methods
  33. of traditional engineering disciplines to software engineering, and the
  34. 7th CSEE continues this focus.  A major abjective of the conference is to
  35. stimulate new proven "practice" and experiences.  Interested individuals
  36. in academia, government, and industry are called upon to submit contributions
  37. describing current efforts in areas such as, but not limited to, the
  38. following:
  39.  
  40. * Enhanced software engineering education: the use of analytic techniques
  41.   that allow prediction of performance, safety, and reliability of software
  42.   intensive systems.
  43.  
  44. * New educational approaches: how to obtain/disseminate practitioner's
  45.   knowledge/experiences; distance learning and other technology-assisted
  46.   mechanisms.
  47.  
  48. * Evaluation of promising new ideas: the role of laboratories and 
  49.   experimentation in engineering and engineering education, and its 
  50.   application to software engineering.
  51.  
  52. * Association with other related disciplines: academic programs (BS, MS,
  53.   MSE, and PhD) in software engineering, computer science, and software
  54.   systems engineering.  Relationships with national/international
  55.   software and computing initiatives.
  56.  
  57. * Professionalism: certification, licensing, ethics.
  58.  
  59. * Additional technical issues: incorporating software reuse and other
  60.   significant accomplishments into software engineering education.

  63. AUTHOR INFORMATION
  64. Each submitted paper will receive a thorough review by members of the
  65. program committee, and accepted papers will be published in the conference
  66. proceedings (past proceedings were published as Lecture Notes in Computer
  67. Science by Springer-Verlag).  Authors should submit five (5) copies of a
  68. complete paper (no longer than 20 double spaced pages - approximately
  69. 6000 words) or panel/tutorial/workshop proposal.  Reviews will be blind: put
  70. only the title in the submittal, and provide a separate cover page that 
  71. includes title, all authors' names, complete addresses and telephone numbers,
  72. indicating to whom all correspondence should be directed.  Papers will be
  73. accepted via e-mail in PostScript(R) format.
