  11. A colleague of mine remembers reading that it was possible to write
  12. protect an IDE hard disk by writing a value to one of the controller
  13. registers.   This disables writes to the disk and the mode can only
  14. be undone by booting or power cycling the computer.  Anyone have a
  15. reference or know of where I can find information on this technique?
