  17. I am looking for some references on the characterization of embedded
  18. systems, preferably on hard- and software. Are there any introductory books ?
  19. Questions I have are:
  20. - Can I use normal benchmarks (SPECMARK, Dhrystone etc.) to get some performance
  21.   figures for embedded hardware"
  22. - How do embedded applications differ from other applications, branching freq.,
  23.   data / instr. referencing, register usage  (do they differ ?)
  24. - What are common techniques for interfacing
  25. - How do real-time systems and embedded systems relate (are all embedded systems

  28. I want to get some information on the main differences between the workstation
