  11. We are trying to configure workstations, using SMC cards,
  12. to use the ODI setup. We have fairly high expectations from
  13. this setup (or do we?) and would like to use it in the 
  14. following manner:

  16.         Logical board #1: IPX
  17.         Logical board #2: IP
  18.  
  19. We would use the board #1 to connect to our NOVELL file 
  20. severs and we would want to use board #2 to connect to
  21. our UNIX boxes. In order to connect to the UNIX boxes 
  22. we use PATHWAY's telnet and this works fine. However,
  23. in general, we use TRUMPET to connect to our news server
  24. and this obviously requires ODIPKT in order to run it on 
  25. top of the ODI driver. This can be made to work as well.

  27. WHAT'S THE PROBLEM YOU MAY ASK?

  29. Well, we would like to use both PATHWAY and the ODIPKT 
  30. interface without having to re-configure our workstaions
  31. in between their usage. However, once the PATHWAY kernel,
  32. pwtcp.exe, has been loaded it seems to lock up logical 
  33. board #2 and therefore the ODIPKT interface doesn't work. 
  34. In order to make it work we must first remove the PATHWAY
  35. kernel. In a DOS this is not too much of a problem but
  36. if one is using Windows 3.x then one must load the kernel
  37. before starting up Windows and therefore while within
  38. Windows one cannot use the ODIPKT interface.
