  13. Can anyone help me on this ?

  15. Our Sun installation is connected to the world through a CISCO router
  16. setup as a firewall. The firewall should keep out all unwanted traffic,
  17. but I want it to allow mail connections and Domain Name Service
  18. information to pass freely through the firewall.

  20. If I only knew the protocol and port number(s) used by BIND, I would be
  21. able to configure the firewall with this information - unfortunately I
  22. cannot find this information.

  24. So can anyone tell me:

  26.     1. Which protocol (tcp, udp, ...) is used for interchanging
  27.        DNS information ?

  29.     2. Which port number(s) is/are used for DNS information ?
