Subject: Need Info about NetBIOS-programming!
Summary: NetBIOS
Keywords: NetBIOS, nowait-mode.
I developed a (realtime) multi-user networkapplication which is based on
NetBIOS. To use NetBIOS I developed a toolbox which is implemented in Turbo
PASCAL version 6. NetBIOS is used entirely in nowait-mode and the toolbox allows me to transfer mail and files acros an Ethernet-PC network. An automatic
login- and logout-system creates sessions between stations.
However...
sometimes NetBIOS suffers from crashes which I cannot control. So I have a
few questions maybe you could answer!:
- When a station crashes, NetBIOS remains 'active' at the station. How can I
avoid interference of this station at other stations?
- I use NetBIOS-version 3.02c. Is this the latest version?
- Does disc-access (harddisc) influence the correct working of NetBIOS?
- Do nested interrupts occure while using NetBIOS?
Some related questions:
- Is it possible to highload NetBIOS?
- Does 'Inline($FA)' and 'Inline($FB)' in TP6.0 really disable and enable
interrupts? Particularly with respect to disable interrupts of NetBIOS!
- The toolbox I spoke about is implemented in Turbo PASCAL 6.0. Could this
cause some of the problems?
- Are there ANY good manuals of NetBIOS?
Thanks for reading it!!
