- A couple of days ago, I replied/posted a response to someone having problems
- using pcnfslpd with AIX as a server. After a few days of working with
- SUN, I have been sent a new version of pcnfslpd. The people at Sun have
- told me that rembak, the program that is responsable for actually sending
- the spool request to the remote machine, appears to be using a NEW socket
- for every job. So, after x number of jobs have been sent, the pc print
- server have run out of sockets. Prior to installing the new software,
- our print server was locking up 2 or 3 times a day. We installed the software
- first thing yesterday, and have not had any problems since.
-
- I would like to thank Curt Finch at IBM for explaining more about how
- the printing is working and correcting my train of thought, and the
- support guys at Sun for their help.
-
- The version of pcnfslpd.exe that we are currently running is 4.1.a3 and
- it has fixed the problems that we were experiencing.
