  11. Can someone please tell me why I am having so much trouble running SUN's PC-NFS
  12. on top of packet drivers on top of SMC/Western Digital ethernet cards?

  14. If I run with the packet driver version .7.1 (filename wd8003e.com), everything
  15. works fine.

  17. If I run with the SMC packet driver v2.03 (filename 8003pkdr.exe), things start
  18. going wrong.

  20. Large files take a VERY long time to transfer away from the PC.

  22. I've had a look at whats happening with GOBBLER, and it appears that the PC is
  23. trying to send a UDP packet of ~8k in several ethernet frames. The frames are
  24. sent one after another - but with a ~1 SECOND time interval between them!

  26. This problem arose while I was trying to answer a previous question - that was
  27. "does the wd8003e.com packet driver drive 16 bit cards with 16 bit transfers"
  28. I assumed the 2.03 driver would and went for it, but was unsure about the .7.1
  29. driver.
