- Can someone please tell me why I am having so much trouble running SUN's PC-NFS
- on top of packet drivers on top of SMC/Western Digital ethernet cards?
-
- If I run with the packet driver version .7.1 (filename wd8003e.com), everything
- works fine.
-
- If I run with the SMC packet driver v2.03 (filename 8003pkdr.exe), things start
- going wrong.
-
- Large files take a VERY long time to transfer away from the PC.
-
- I've had a look at whats happening with GOBBLER, and it appears that the PC is
- trying to send a UDP packet of ~8k in several ethernet frames. The frames are
- sent one after another - but with a ~1 SECOND time interval between them!
-
- This problem arose while I was trying to answer a previous question - that was
- "does the wd8003e.com packet driver drive 16 bit cards with 16 bit transfers"
- I assumed the 2.03 driver would and went for it, but was unsure about the .7.1
- driver.
-
- Answers to either problem would be appreciated. - thanks
