- We are just about to start a development project where we are going
- to use ISODE. This is an inquiry to help us to decide which unix
- workstation we should acquire to do the development on. We need to commu-
- nicate using OSI protocols both on top of IP-networks, but also on
- top of CONS-based networks (X.25).
-
- I request anyone having definitive answers about the possibilities of doing
- this for various workstations to enlighten me about this.
-
- Until now we have considered the following alternatives with some remarks
- resulting from discussion with collegues:
-
- decstation/ultrix: should be ok for ISODE work except that we don't know
- whether ISODE on top of X.25 works on this platform.
-
- rs6000/aix: doesn't work too well, but this kan possibly be fixed
-
- hp/ux: should work both for IP-based and X.25 networks, but a definitive
- answer would be nice
-
- sun: used to be the platform of choice, but I'm told that ISODE in its
- current incarnation won't work with Solaris.
