  14. We are in the process of investigating products which convert between
  15. TCP/IP and LU6.2 (and optionally DECnet) protocols for APPC.  We will be
  16. using an IBM RS/6000 machine.  Our company currently has no IBM machines
  17. (AS/400, S/36, S/38, 3090) nor do we (me) have any desire to own and
  18. operate one.  The current three solutions we are analyzing are:

  23.     They sell a RiscStation with their own software preloaded which
  24.     accepts TCP/IP, DECnet, and SNA connections and transparently
  25.     converts between any and all of them.

  27.     Features:      Too good to be true.  Requires no knowledge of
  28.                LU6.2 or the nightmare of profiles to establish a
  29.                connection.  A simple open of a socket and
  30.                read() and write() calls are all that is necessary.
  31.                Also has TELNET, FTP, SET HOST, etc.
