- This is an area of contention between our local Apple folks and "Inside
- Appletalk". According to everything I've read and heard, you are
- absolutely correct -- zone names and network numbers are independent. A
- zone can span multiple networks and a network can contain multiple
- zones. A localtalk cable can only have one network number. I was not
- aware that a localtalk cable could have only one zone. Is this true?
-
- Also, our Apple engineer tells us that zones are not allowed to span
- what you call "cable" (sections divided by routers). I don't see a
- reason why not? Do you have a source for this info?
