- Greetings,
-
- I need some advice and info on upgrading a network to multiple phase2
- zones. Currently I administer a network which has only one phase2 zone and
- one phase1 zone, with a number of FasPaths, Gatorboxes, Ciscos, etc on the
- backbone. What I need is feedback on the following scenerio.
-
- Assume that all net devices agree on a range of 50 zone numers, say 1-50.
- Do all 50 zones have to be named at the time the net is configured? What we
- would like to do is assign 10 departments with control of 5 numbers each.
- 1-5 would be controlled by dept1, 6-10 by dept2, etc. Currently most depts
- donâ•’t need all five zones at this time, so some zone numbers would be left
- unused and presumably unnamed until some later date. Is this possible? and
- what would we have to do to impliment it?
-
- I would appreciate communicating with someone who has upgraded large
- networks to phase2 to see how others have done it.
-
- Thanks,
- Tom
