- A couple of months ago, CACM had a little supercomputer article, and it
- was located in the special issue about the human Genome project. I have
- a friend who is a particular critic of the project (he's a tenured Stanford
- biologist [botany]), so I copied it for him. I read before giving it to
- him, and there was an amusing bit on terminology where the biologists try
- to explain to the computer scientists what it is they do. The biologists
- said that oh there were just some small differences in terminology. The
- reality was very much like the AI understanding problem. Human intelligence
- filled in the gaps.

- A similar thing is happening here. Take definitions in but be prepared
- to throw them out.
