  16. PURPOSE:
  17. To bring together researchers interested in the use of FPGAs as computing
  18. elements to present recent work.  While papers of a theoretical nature
  19. are welcomed, it is anticipated that this workshop will focus primarily
  20. on the current opportunities and problems in this new and evolving
  21. technology for computing.  A proceedings will be published by the
  22. IEEE Computer Society.

  24. SHORT PAPERS OR ABSTRACTS (10 pages) SHOULD BE SUBMITTED BEFORE
  25. JANUARY 9, 1993 TO ONE OF THE TWO CONFERENCE CO-CHAIRS.

  48. Papers are solicited on all aspects of the use or applications of
  49. (usually multiple) FPGAs as (usually reconfigurable) computing
  50. elements in attached or special purpose processors or coprocessors,
  51. especially including but not limited to
  52. *** coprocessor boards for augmenting the instruction set of
  53.     general purpose computers;
  54. *** attached processors for specific purposes (e.g. signal
  55.     processing) or general purposes;
  56. *** languages for programming FPGA-based computers;
  57. *** tools and environments for programming FPGA-based computers;
  58. *** application domains suitable for FPGA-based computers;
  59. *** architecture emulation using FPGA-based computers.

  62. major software and hardware vendors on what to expect in the near
  63. future in capability for FPGA-based systems.]
