I have heard (from someone at IBM) that IBM sells TCP/IP for their 3174 cluster controllers, thus enableling their 3270-style screen oriented terminals as vt100(maybe vt200) CHARACTER oriented terminals. Currently only tokenring network adapters, but they will also provide an ethernet interface in the cluster controller, and later FDDI also. I think they also wanted to implement LAT, but i'm not sure of that.
By the way, did you know that IBM has an X-client implementation on their S/390
systems? Talking about IBM going for open systems!
