- I believe that there are two misunderstandings in your post. Each
- volume in a volume-set is a FILES-11 volume in its own right. The
- cluster factor is set and maintained completely on a volume-by-volume basis.

- The second misunderstanding has to do with IO. Each physical IO
- is done for the lesser of two sizes, the size of the user request
- or the size of the individual file extent on the basis. The
- cluster-factor of the disk does not enter into this computation
- (except, of course, to the extent that it may determine the
- minimum size of a disk extent).
