  24.   The alternative of having a priviliged system is far worse. All this account
  25. will be able to do is to receive mail and run a batch-job that copies one or
  26. more specified files to a floppy disk. Where is your problem ? There may be
  27. dickheads around with nothing better to do than writing forged mail messages
  28. with fake sender and so on, but all they'll get out of it is a file on a floppy
  29. disk. I stand by my last line: The solution is quick and dirty _AND_ secure -
  30. compared to just about anything else. If you have a better or different
  31. solution then post it. The original poster wanted advice on a problem. Not a
  32. show off.

  34. And now for the technical content :-)
  35.   Since version 8 of VMS_SHARE now supports _ANY_ RMS file (including
  36. binaries), you could even let the the mail message contain the entire file in
  37. VMS_SHARE format. The "Daemon" on the floppy-disk system would then read all
  38. incoming mail-messages to the PCX account, "unshare" the file-contents and
  39. write to floppy. [Carl could the send his postings to a write-only floopy :-)
