  14. Does anyone know how to suppress BACKUP's automatic volume recognition and
  15. automatic volume mount mechanism?

  17. I have a device driver which lets a VAX use a tape drive on a remote
  18. system. Unfortunately, when a BACKUP operation reaches end-of-tape,
  19. rewinds and unloads, the drive receives the mount request from BACKUP
  20. and immediately loads the first tape back in and overwrites it.

  22. What I'm looking for is a way to get BACKUP to behave as it did in the
  23. old VMS 4.x days - prompt the user for volume changes - on VMS 5.4.
  24.  
  25. Alternatively, is there any way to run the old v4.7 BACKUP.EXE on 
  26. VMS 5.x?
