- Sorry I missed the earlier part of this thread. We used to have a
- similar problem with our 6430 (now a 4500 :-). Check your LA120 for
- parity. (I forget the command required, but it produces a list of
- REC speed, XMT speed, and every letter of the alphabet with a value
- beside it. Look for "P" (for parity), and make sure it is "8", which
- means 8-bit, no parity.)

- I don't recall the details, but some sort of firmware change (!) I
- think somehow affected the LA120 setting. Once you get it right, save
- it, allowing it to be restored via power off/on. My recollection is
- pretty vague, but I thing our local FS came back and fiddled the
- system one more time when we reported the problem to them.

- The parity was definitely the source of our problem. Why it would relate
- to baud rate is beyond me. (I recommend you try this when you and your
- users *expect* the system to be down. ;-)
