  40. this usually means that someone else is running HELP when you are
  41. installing FORTRAN. the fact that you are getting the message is
  42. confusing, unless someone else is using the same username as you are,
  43. but then it should say "2 terminals have been notified". very confusing.
  44. i've installed FORTRAN V5.8 without problems.

  46. make sure that only you are logged in to the system and that you are
  47. logged in as SYSTEM.
