- After learning that OS/2 does not have any 32-bit calls to support
- character-mode interfaces (VIO calls), I want to know if this was
- the only exception.
-
- Are the Kbd and Mou functions have 32-bit counterparts?
- (e.g. can you call them from 32-bit segments, and pass 32-bit
- pointers instead of segment then offset...)
-
- Are the Gpi and Win functions 32-bits?
- Is the SOM 32-bit?
-
- I know that all the Dos functions are 32-bit, but I only have
- documentation on OS/2 1.x so I'm not sure about the rest.
-
- Are there any plans to include 32-bit support for windowed and
- full-screen character mode I/O? From Ray Duncan's recent article
- in PC Week I learned that NT has such support. He suggested
- that not including this feature was meant to force people to
- program in PM.
-
- Although I have seen example PM programs which are not too
- difficult to set up, it's still a heck of a lot more work than
- just calling a functions which print, or change the screen size,
- etc. It would be nice if they were 32-bit and could also have some
- limited control over the window characteristics, like font size,
- window size and position, etc.
