- that supports multicasting to the Internet addressing scheme. This class D
- address is built in the following way:

- There is a mechanism defined that maps group addresses of IP directly onto
- multicast addresses of the ethernet (if your hardware is able to do
- multicasting). Implementation issues are addressed in RFC1112, ideas for
- distribution of multicast packets across network boundaries are described in
- RFC1075. Note, that the service provided by multicast IP is the same best
- effort delivery that is offered by conventional IP so you will have to care
- about reliable transfer at the application layer.
