- IBM TCP/IP doesn't seem to pick up the address of baseband (ISA) cards
- correctly. Actually, I think it might be a bug in IBMNET.OS2. I'm
- having problems in getting two machines running OS/2 2.0 (service pack
- applied) to communicate using IBM TCP/IP (with latest patches from
- ftp-os2) over baseband. I can get the machines to communicate using
- various DOS TCP/IP implementations.
-
- A homebrew network monitor shows that the source hardware address field
- in arp packets bears little resemblance to the actual source hardware
- address of the arp packet. As further evidence, things start working
- if I use arp -s to manually set the hardware address to the broadcast
- address (on both machines).
-
- Are there any other possible explanations/work arounds? I'd like to
- add more machines to the network and manually setting the arp address
- is not an option on some of them. Are there any later versions of
- IBMNET.OS2? The version I have is dated 2-18-92 2:58p and has a size
- of 13524 bytes. Thanks,
-
