- YES, it is a FAQ.
- But NO, it has not been answered to everybody's satisfaction!
-
- The sync. problem with the Diamond Speedstar is still around. At the
- 4 installations around me with that card (Speedstar 24), the method
- proposed by IBM and by various wizzards here does not work (svga off,
- vmode monitor, svga on, load drivers, at boot in setmode.bat have a
- vmode 38 for the 1024 resolution). The high resolution comes up but
- sure it is interlaced or something. It is not the monitor which can do
- better than 72 Hz. It is not the card/monitor combination since they
- do work fine under Windows (excuse me). It is the way OS/2 and the
- card interact, I assume.
-
- Somebode promised here that he would post some extended IBM advice,
- pending permission by IBM. I am waiting, and probably many more.
- Anybody else has something meaningful to say, beyond the line
- this-is-a-faq-and-everybody-but-this-turkey-knows-the-solution.
