  11. YES, it is a FAQ.
  12. But NO, it has not been answered to everybody's satisfaction!

  14. The sync. problem with the Diamond Speedstar is still around. At the
  15. 4 installations around me with that card (Speedstar 24), the method
  16. proposed by IBM and by various wizzards here does not work (svga off,
  17. vmode monitor, svga on, load drivers, at boot in setmode.bat have a
  18. vmode 38 for the 1024 resolution). The high resolution comes up but
  19. sure it is interlaced or something. It is not the monitor which can do
  20. better than 72 Hz. It is not the card/monitor combination since they
  21. do work fine under Windows (excuse me). It is the way OS/2 and the
  22. card interact, I assume.

  24. Somebode promised here that he would post some extended IBM advice,
  25. pending permission by IBM. I am waiting, and probably many more.
  26. Anybody else has something meaningful to say, beyond the line
  27. this-is-a-faq-and-everybody-but-this-turkey-knows-the-solution.
