- To solve this problem, I copied the service pak Windows drivers on top of
- the Win-OS/2 3.1 video drivers. Two files whose names I cannot exactly
- remember, but the gist was to copy WSST*.DRV from the \os2\mdos\winos2\system
- directory on top of \winos231\system\swinvga.drv and to copy WSPD*.DRV on
- top of the \winos231\system\vga.drv file. (I use stars to indicate that I
- can't remember the rest of the filename...there's only two files you need to
- copy. Also, I think these are Diamond Speedstar dependent files...generic
- Tseng drivers might have different names.)
-
- Now I can get both Win-OS/2 3.1 (beta :-( ) and Win-OS/2 3.0 to run seamless
- under OS/2! I put C:\WINOS231 in my path so that's the default, but if I
- want to run stuff under 3.0 (like Word for Windows, which is quite a bit
- buggy under the 3.1 beta) I just put C:\OS2\MDOS\WINOS2 in the working
- directory section of the program item's settings folder. I have to do that
- because apparently the DOS_AUTOEXEC setting disappears when you re-install
- the service pack on top of the GA/SP modified by WINOS231 install.
- Anyone know how to keep the DOS_AUTOEXEC setting from going away?
