- I am using the Beta release at present, and ever since installing it about
- 5 weeks ago or so I have had a similar problem. However, after getting to
- the "logo" screen (the larger one), intermittently the system completely
- stops loading. The copyright info and the logo remain on the screen sometimes
- as long as 110 seconds (nearly two minutes!) before proceeding with the
- message "Loading -- Please Wait". The OS takes nearly 2 minutes to load on my
- 386/25dx when this isn't happening, so when this does happen, it takes almost
- four minutes to load OS/2. This seems crazy to me, and I'm vaguely tempted
- to regress to dos until os/2 is a bit more efficient. If I have the
- occasional system crash, then the auto chkdsk adds about another 5-7 minutes
- to the loading process. Yech. I really like much about OS/2, but this
- slow loading, and the incredibly slow printing from WINOS/2 3.0 and 3.1, gives
- me pause (very LENGTHY pause, sometimes ;) ). Oh, well. . . . suggestions
- welcomed!
