  11.  I figured out the problem I was having with my computer and the
  12. new Service Pack that I installed.
  13.  
  14. SYMPTOM: Whenver I used my mouse which is on COM1 to open folders scroll
  15. through windows etc it would cause my other COM ports to screw up. This was 
  16. very noticeable with my modem which I had on COM4 - then on COM2 and also 
  17. on COM3. It would cause the relay to open and close and eventually hang
  18. my modem. I would ahve to power down in order to reset my modem.

  20. CAUSE: I finally figured out that it was the video driver I was using
  21. because it would also screw up my modem when I only used the keyboard
  22. to operate the PM and when I ran a screen saver with an aquaruium scence
  23. it would really drive my modem wild. I was using the TSENG drivers that
  24. came with the service pack at the 600x800 resolution. When I reinstalled
  25. the video driver back to the default low resolution driver that you start
  26. out with in OS2 then everything was fine. I then went back and tried each of 
  27. the three TSENG driver resolution and it did it on all three.

  30. So I'm now forced to the crummy default driver until OS2 can fix this
  31. problem or soemone writes some decent drivers for the TSENG chipset.
  32. I left a message with the IBM service person who was handling my problem since
  33. I discovered this late this evening. Tomorrow I'll talk to them and see
  34. what kind of a response I will get from them.
