  14. I installed the service pack on top of GA and things are looking
  15. pretty good.  Have seamless Windows 3.0 in 800x600x256 mode with Tseng
  16. ET4000 video.

  18. I then proceeded to install Windows 3.1 beta as if I were installing
  19. it on top of the beta release.  I can get Windows 3.1 to come up in
  20. full-screen, and even in 800x600 using appropriate ET4000 Windows 3.1
  21. drivers from ftp.cica.indiana.edu.

  23. So I modified my autoexec.bat and config.sys files to change
  24. references from c:\os2\mdos\winos2 to c:\winos231 and rebooted, as
  25. suggested by Al (adhir@cugnus.umd.edu).  While everything works as
  26. before, I can no longer get seamless windows applications to run, even
  27. stuff as simple as Windows 3.1 clock.  The system goes into a strange
  28. video mode with lots of horizontal blue lines, and hazy shadows of the
  29. underlying windows.  I restored my config.sys and autoexec.bat files,
  30. and now at least I can get seamless windows running Windows 3.0.
