- I installed the service pack on top of GA and things are looking
- pretty good. Have seamless Windows 3.0 in 800x600x256 mode with Tseng
- ET4000 video.
-
- I then proceeded to install Windows 3.1 beta as if I were installing
- it on top of the beta release. I can get Windows 3.1 to come up in
- full-screen, and even in 800x600 using appropriate ET4000 Windows 3.1
- drivers from ftp.cica.indiana.edu.
-
- So I modified my autoexec.bat and config.sys files to change
- references from c:\os2\mdos\winos2 to c:\winos231 and rebooted, as
- suggested by Al (adhir@cugnus.umd.edu). While everything works as
- before, I can no longer get seamless windows applications to run, even
- stuff as simple as Windows 3.1 clock. The system goes into a strange
- video mode with lots of horizontal blue lines, and hazy shadows of the
- underlying windows. I restored my config.sys and autoexec.bat files,
- and now at least I can get seamless windows running Windows 3.0.
-
- Any idea what's going on, or how to fix it?
-
- Thanks - Jim
