- Here's something they should include in program settings-- some connection to an
- alarm clock (ie. to execute the program at some time, or at multiple times).
- I've tried executing programs through the alarm utility that comes with OS/2, but
- it only seems to work with .CMD files, and other 'automatic' programs. What I
- would like to do is start up a terminal emulator that will execute a script (say,
- to get mail from the net). I've tried this under the alarm clock and after
- executing the program crashes and notifies me that it has exceeded heap size.
- I've tried alarmpro2.5, but it insists (in the scheduler) that it's 1993, the
- clock setting is correct tho. so it will execute the programs--starting next
- year! Is there any way to have a program (in it's own session) start up at a
- specified time. I think the reason the alarm clock crashed is that it doesn't
- open a new session for the routine. I'm using Qmodem (DOS), would an TE/2 or a
- similar program solve myu problems (being a native OS/2 app)? Any help would be
- greatly appreciated.
