- I'm borrowing a friend's 'generic' ET3000-based, 512k video
- card until I decide on my own video card. I have the impression
- that I ought to be able to get 800x600x256 out of this thing with
- OS/2 GA+SP, but I'm having no luck.
-
- From a DOS full-screen session, I ran SVGA ON. It responded with
- its own syntax and didn't create svgadata.pmi in \os2. I took
- that as a hint that something "is wrong." I also ran DSPINSTL
- which identified the card as a Tseng-based card but failed when
- it said it couldn't find the svgadata.pmi file.
-
- Perhaps ET3000 chipsets are unsupported? Perhaps I did somethign
- wrong? Perhaps this card is in some other way incabable?
-
- Any ideas?
-
- Boy I wish this whole video situation were easier; it seems to be
- taking forever to get good card with many colors at higher res.
- with drivers...;-(
