  13. I'm borrowing a friend's 'generic' ET3000-based, 512k video
  14. card until I decide on my own video card.  I have the impression
  15. that I ought to be able to get 800x600x256 out of this thing with
  16. OS/2 GA+SP, but I'm having no luck.

  18. From a DOS full-screen session, I ran SVGA ON.  It responded with
  19. its own syntax and didn't create svgadata.pmi in \os2.  I took 
  20. that as a hint that something "is wrong."  I also ran DSPINSTL
  21. which identified the card as a Tseng-based card but failed when
  22. it said it couldn't find the svgadata.pmi file.

  24. Perhaps ET3000 chipsets are unsupported?  Perhaps I did somethign
  25. wrong?  Perhaps this card is in some other way incabable?

  27. Any ideas?

  29. Boy I wish this whole video situation were easier; it seems to be
  30. taking forever to get good card with many colors at higher res.
