- Perhaps your Diamond card has older roms or something? How about the bus
- speed? You didn't mention that either. On an ISA system, that might make a
- big difference.
-
- In any case, my Diamond SpeedSTAR 24 (not X) has a very fast "bouncy"
- flashlight mode too. It was one of the first things I noticed! So I'm
- afraid you can't blame Diamond on this one.... (Note I have a 256k cache,
- so there could be something there, although I doubt it).
-
- My text windows do scroll much slower than before, however.... :-(
-
- Other than that, the graphics is faster and zippier with 256 colors than
- with the Orchid drivers at 16 colors! DOS box performance seems way up too,
- as I haven't noticed dramatic slowdowns when opening Qmodem and another DOS
- program like I used to under GA. I haven't really tried this much, though,
- so it could be wishful thinking :-) Seamless windows are great!
