  23. I fixed this by opening each of the Redbook objects, opening the
  24. association settings, and changing the default to view.exe. Your second
  25. step above makes view.exe appear in the menu for all *.inf objects, but it
  26. doesn't make it the default. By the way, your first step is unnecessary;
  27. you can just add *.inf in the original view.exe object that came with
  28. OS/2, since you don't need a shadow of this in the directory where the
  29. .inf files live.

  31. Does anyone know if there is a smarter way to do this? I'm trying not to
  32. mix any new stuff in with the original OS/2 distribution; that way, if I
  33. have to reinstall, I don't lose anything I've added. As a result, I
  34. don't put new .inf files in c:\os2\books (where the command reference,
  35. etc. reside), but in a directory I created on a different partition. Is
  36. there any easy way to make any .inf file I dump in that directory
  37. automatically use view.exe when double-clicked? Or do I have to change
  38. them all individually, as I've been doing?
