  27. I think those are the error messages you get if OS/2 thinks it is
  28. not a bootable disk - ie. "I can't find the boot record/os."

  30. As a past victim of the ibm1s506.add driver with ESDI controllers,
  31. I would guess that this is the problem. They seem to have not put
  32. the "new, improved, works with every IDE, ESDI, RLL, ..." version
  33. of ibm1s506.add on the Service Pack.

  35. I have the new, improved version, so I put that on disk#2, and it 
  36. installed the SP happily. I had to re-boot from floppy and copy the good 
  37. .add to \os2, of course, because the install unpacks a compressed 
  38. version to the hard disk, and of course, it's that same non-working copy.

  40. Once you correct the driver/install pains, it should be happy.
  41. You can either put the GA version of ibm1s506.add on, if that 
  42. worked for that system, or any version that did work. The "final"
  43. version should be posted soon to CIS, and presumably to software.watson.
