- I've been using DVPEG for DOS in a full screen DOS shell to view my JPEG
- files and have found it to work very well with OS/2 2.0. At least before
- I installed the SP. Now, it's rather spontaneous on if it'll work or if
- it'll crash the system. Apparently, it looks like if the JPEG file
- requires more than a certain amount of memory, OS/2 will lose video sync,
- and my monitor will go crazy. So DVpeg still works for small pics but it
- crashes OS/2 for larger ones. I have no idea why this problem is
- occurring nor how to fix it. Note that I'm using an ATI VGA Wonder OEM
- 512K in 800x600x256 color using Joel Armengaud's driver. This same driver
- did not work with SVGA ON, so I was forced to turn SVGA OFF in order for
- the driver to work at all. This could be the problem with DVPEG which
- does use SVGA modes to display the pictures.
-
- Help appreciated! On either fixing the 800x600x256 driver problem with
- SVGA ON or with DVPEG.
