  18. I think the week I spent to download the sp was worth it.  Thus far, after
  19. working with it for about an hour, everything looks/runs/feels great.  The
  20. 1024X768X256 Tseng drivers are excellent, much better than the orchid
  21. drivers i was working with.  Although, when i tried to open too many windows
  22. at the same time, it seems a little slower than before.  This will have
  23. to be further investigated.  Seamless windows (after opening up wingif) is
  24. wonderful.  The display looks wonderful (except the fonts used on the tabs
  25. in the settings menu... they remind me too much of my cga days...)  In
  26. general my initial impression of the sp is very good.... however, now
  27. to some of the bad points...

  29. i think, ibm could've put a little bit more work into the user-interface.
  30. for example, i couldn't not figure out how to use the new tseng drivers
  31. until i finally decided to read comp.os.os2.misc for help... (thanks Mr. 
  32. Charlap).  One would assume that by going into the selective install, one
  33. would be able to install the new drivers... (that's where i wonder around
  34. for hte longest time...)

  36. secondly, the dspinstall program... after the software has finished loading
  37. in all the drivers and update the files, there is no feedback from the 
  38. software that what i was tryign to accomplish has been done... instead i'm
  39. faced w/ the same menu askign what i want to install... it was not unitl
  40. i clicked on cancel that os/2 told me to reboot and all that..

  42. these are just two little minor annoyances (perhaps i missed some things
  43. in my rush to get everythign done... i did read the new readme however...)
  44. however, i think ibm was very very rushed in getting this thing out from
  45. looking at all the questions/complaints/sometimes-not-so-nice-messages 
  46. which people posted on the net.  so taking that into consideration, i
  47. give ibm two thumbs up for a job well done.
