- Tim:
-
- - Is the 8514/A driver support 32 bit or still 16 bit?
-
- - As for the seamless window, you are correct and I don't expect the support
- soon (if ever). Why? Seamless windows support must directly access the
- onboard VGA adapter for each system. The 8514/A also directly accesses the
- onboard VGA adapter for each system. The 8514/A has write only registers
- that make "multitasking" between drivers which directly change the 8514/A
- and VGA adapter very interesting.
-
- This is not to say it is impossible. From what I can observe, IBM is make
- a business decision as to the level of support the 8514/A receives. There
- are many features, fixes, and enhancements that will deliever large OS/2
- sales.
-
- IMHO (and as an 8514/A owner), I must agree with OS/2. Putting resourcess
- into getting more OS/2 sales is more important than 8514/A support.
- Hopefully, the work will level off, the headcount will go up, etc., and
- IBM will have the resources to do both items.
