  23. Now you can have the best, i.e., the GNU tar.  The latest version (1.11.1) 
  24. comes ready with makefiles for emx/GCC for OS/2 and various DOS compilers, 
  25. so that should answer both your questions.  You can get it from, e.g., prep.
  26. ai.mit.edu.  You can also get GNU tar for DOS and OS/2 from hobes.nmsu.edu.  
  27. There is a 32 bit version for OS/2 2.0 and 16 bit version that runs under 
  28. both DOS and OS/2.  You can also get emx/GCC from the same site.  As far as 
  29. I know, the Microsoft and Borland C compilers for DOS aren't available for 
  30. ftp.
