I just said this something along these lines in another post, which can also appy here. OS/2 might not let you switch speeds if it also changes whether the
cache is on or off (like on my machine). If it does not let you, you will
not get reliable operation by doing it from a BIOS set-up program or something.
Changing the state of the cache can cause OS/2 to crash or not load.
