- I have a Colorado Jumbo 120MB tape drive that I bought before I got OS/2.
- It has an 8-bit controller board (there are also 16-bit boards for it too),
- and it uses software data compression. The tapes are regular DC2000 tapes;
- I bought mine at the university bookstore for $25, but I know you can get
- them cheaper elsewhere. My tape drive and controller board cost about $300.
-
- The software that came with it is not OS/2-specific, so I have to run it
- under pure DOS. Also, since it runs under pure DOS, it will back up my
- FAT drive fine, but won't work for my HPFS drive. I did speak with a
- Colorado service representative a couple days ago, and he said that
- "according to the powers that be, there will be an OS/2 solution available
- by the end of the year." He said it probably wouldn't be free, but I'll
- just be happy to have something to back up my HPFS drive.
