- My problems with deskpic were quite specific. It runs, and it also runs the
- aquarium and spheres with the service pack, which it didn't do before. I have
- been able to verify the following flaky behaviour on my own system, however
- (486-33, 120 meg IDE, Trident 800x600x16):
- Running pulse simultaneously with deskpic will cause a lockup if any
- FURTHER load is put on the system (I have 8 megs and plenty of swap space);
- but so far only when I use the `bouncing happyface' screen saver. Delete
- that... and everything is fine.
- Now, I had noticed before that when pulse was running and I put pmglobe into
- `draw at low priority' mode, the system could lock. So I have two cases of
- graphical programs which run at lowest priority locking the system ONLY when
- pulse is running.
- Someone feeling reckless could try this and report back.
