- Well at least you didn't get an UAE... :)

-
- Basically, if you run the setup from DOS, it shouldn't insist on a new
- installation. It simply should put you to the system configuration
- screen where you can choose whatever components you wish, and when
- you select one, setup installs it and quits. Basically.
-
- Look at system.ini, in the [boot] section. The essential lines are
- 286grabber=vgacolor.2gr
- 386grabber=vgacolor.3gr
- diplay.drv=vgacolor.drv
- (I suppose they were vgacolors with std VGA...)
-
- In addition to these, the fonts may be different for your current
- inoperable setup. But these entries should enable you to boot in std
- VGA. (Of course you must expand the appropriate files from windoze disks
- to the system directory first.)
-
- The font entries were also in the [boot], and looked like this:
- oemfonts.fon=vgaoem.fon
- fixedfon.fon=vgafix.fon
- fonts.fon=vgasys.fon
- (I suppose, again, that they were vga*.fon with std VGA - at least they
- were 8514*.fon with a 8514 setup...)
-
- Hope this helps!
