- I am having a problem installing vi (visual editor of UNIX)
- version of DOS on MS-Windows 3.1.
-
- After I specify the PIF file for it, and I open a file
- using vi, I get an error on the command line of the
- file saying " error see documentation - file.a ..."
- I have no file.a anywhere to refer to.
-
- It works fine when I set it in "exclusive" mode and
- also saves the contents and edits alright. But sometimes
- it pops up this error message on the command line of the
- file.
-
- I tried increasing the XMS, EMS and swap file size. It
- didn't help.
-
- Can anybody tell me what the problem could be ?
-
- Thanks
-
- Niru.
