  12. I have an Olympic Technology 386DX machine which is running DOS 5.0 and
  13. Windows 3.1. When the system boots the VGA BIOS identifies itself as
  14. Trident's and says ``1024K mode''. When I run MSD (from the \windows
  15. directory) it identifies the VGA board as a QUADTEL, also using the 386MAX
  16. equivalent of MSD the claim is that the VGA has 512K of RAM.

  20. I RTFMed the VGA manual and it says that the board uses a Trident 8900
  21. chip however there is NO name on the book so perhaps I've a QUADTEL board
  22. with a Trident chipset.

  24. I say all this because I've ftp'ed the Trident drivers from
  25. ftp.cica.indiana.edu over the weekend but I'm reluctant to install them
  26. until I know one way or the other.
