- Hello all,
-
- About four or five days ago I posted a message asking about libraries
- and/or ASM/C source code which would allow me to include SB support in my
- programs. As is always the case, I got more e-mail saying, "Send me the
- info too!" than actual suggestions... :-)
-
- However, I did get a number of helpful tips, and I'll summarize the
- packages as follows:
-
- Package FTP Site Directory
- --------- ---------- -----------
- - SBDOS20.ZOO as.arizona.edu pub/SBDOS20
- - BLAST13.ZIP garbo.uwasa.fi pc/sb
- - SBF.ZIP wench.ece.jcu.edu.au pub/sbf
-
-
- I don't have a ZOO decompressor, so I haven't had the opportunity to look
- at SBDOS20 yet.
- BLAST13.ZIP worked just fine for me, and it's probably the one I'll use.
- SBF.ZIP didn't work for me, but I'm positive that it's the fault of
- either my card or my system. It obviously *does* work for the author and
- others, and seems to be a very nice, complete package.
- Lastly, one person even suggested that I buy the Creative Labs SDK, since
- it would be *impossible* for me to add SB support wthout it. I thank him
- for the advice, but unfortunately I can't afford shelling out CDN$100+ for
- the simple project I'm working on.
-
- Some other packages/routines I've seen on local BBS's are CTV-MOD (has
- modifications/enhancements to the original CTV-VOICE.DRV functions), SBDAC
- (a simple subset of SBF.ZIP), and SOUNDHAX (which needs the library
- SBCLIB). You might want to check Archie or your local boards for these
- programs as well.
-
- Thanks muchly to all who replied, and I hope this helps others who are in
- the same position as I.
-
-
- Cheers,
-
