  15. Is there a way to force the FATs and the directory entry to be updated
  16. without closing and re-opening a file?  I have a data collection system
  17. that needs to minimize data loss in case of a power failure or other
  18. crash.  Only the data which are written to the file but not yet
  19. reflected in the FAT and/or directory entry are at risk.
