- Greetings.
-
- I have a friend with a NEC PC which is experiencing problems with printing
- within Windows 3.0 and WordPerfect 5.1 applications to a Panisonic KX-P1124.
- When a document is printed, the printing will overstrike at random. An
- examination of the data being sent to the printer shows that a printhead home
- escape sequence is being inserted into the data stream. Thinking it may be
- a virus or other related fault the PC hard disk was reformatted (low level)
- and reloaded from the distribution disks. The problems still occurs. What
- makes this even more confusing is that the DOS 5.0 PRINT command does not
- experience this problem and it was printing fine earlier without any system
- or software changes. All applications correctly identify the printer
- and host system. Microsoft and NEC help lines were useless.
-
- Any ideas/suggestions? Thanks.
