  13. I have a friend with a NEC PC which is experiencing problems with printing
  14. within Windows 3.0 and WordPerfect 5.1 applications to a Panisonic KX-P1124.
  15. When a document is printed, the printing will overstrike at random.  An
  16. examination of the data being sent to the printer shows that a printhead home
  17. escape sequence is being inserted into the data stream.  Thinking it may be
  18. a virus or other related fault the PC hard disk was reformatted (low level)
  19. and reloaded from the distribution disks.  The problems still occurs.  What
  20. makes this even more confusing is that the DOS 5.0 PRINT command does not
  21. experience this problem and it was printing fine earlier without any system
  22. or software changes.  All applications correctly identify the printer
  23. and host system.  Microsoft and NEC help lines were useless.
