  12. Hello.  I am running AmigaMINIX 1.5.10.2 with Mark Newton's serial fixes
  13. (which I doubt are involved here) and am having trouble with "last."

  15. First, I'll start with an example of the output I get from last:

  26. As you can see, last cannot tell when /usr/adm/wtmp begins, and also it is
  27. unable to compute logout times and the length of login.
  28. What is more bizarre is that if I do
  29. >/etc/utmp
  30. >/usr/adm/wtmp
  31. to clear out the accounting files, then last will properly report the
  32. beginning time of wtmp, but *as soon as* a user logs in, the "wtmp begins"
  33. line goes screwy, and again, logouts and login lengths are hosed.

  35. As I am not terribly familiar with the format of utmp and wtmp files,
  36. I was hoping that either someone has had this problem and has fixed and/or
  37. could take a look at the utmp and wtmp files that were in existence when
  38. the above output was created.  Since they are very small, I am enclosing
  39. them here:
